Just a bit of a guess here, but are you by any chance trying to upload a PowerPoint (.pptx) file in the ATTO text editor from the 'Add media' button? Here, you can only add supported audio or video files, and sadly, a PowerPoint file isn't one of them.
Adding a file like a PowerPoint is best done by using the resource File activity module, and not in a text editor.
