We embedded three etherpads in a book - but the embed links do not work. If we empad the etherpads in text fields in the same moodle course, one embed link in the book works - the other do not. Is there anythink special to keep in mind when embedding etherpads in a book?

Never heard of etherpads before today. Not sure why it does not work in a book, but the other part you mention, that one works and two do not, I think might be due to not having unique identifiers, which causes only the first one on a page to work..
You might have more success if you try and build etherpad into a bundle for the Generico filter, and do your embedding with it. Every time I have used a Generico filter in a book, it does work.
