How can I answer this comment about Moodle? I like Moodle a lot and after Blackboard, WebCT, and Serf I can get it. WebCT has an edge on the grade book because you can create calculated columns, which can add the different type of assignments, e.g., quizzes or papers or midterm. Otherwise Moodle had it. This semester I am using WebCT for the grade book and Moodle for everything else, online quizzes, journal work, and so on.
If you are using 1.5, tell them to turn advanced features on and add items to categories, which lets them do categories and weighting among other things.
