My quiz is creating odd errors

I am totally confused and frustrated.  I just updated my Moodle to 3.6.2

I just tried to add some quiz questions using this:

::81b 08-05c::

Coverage under the automobile policy OAP1 includes which of these uses:

{~Carrying explosives

~Carrying passengers for compensation

=Occasionally giving a ride to a person who shares the cost of a trip

~Renting out the automobile}

And got the following result (see attachment.

I also had to remove all " and ' marks or I got errors on the import.

I used all of the text settings as I always have (UTF-8) and Gift format.

I need this to work and I am confused.  Did something change in the version?

Thank you.  I did not even know this forum existed.  I will try to use if from now on for these types of questions although I feel these are upgrade issues more than quiz issues.  I am having my ISP try to see what, if anything could have occurred in the upgrade.

Is there a best place for him or I to add such questions or issues?

I took your example, and put it into a text file called q6.txt.  I then imported this into my Moodle 3.6.3.  It worked (see attachment).  So, your problem doesn't seem to have anything to do with the version of Moodle.  I think that your problems were in your upgrading of Moodle.

Consider going to Site Admin, Server, Environment, and posting a screenshot of what shows.

Ask the person who did the upgrade to explain how he upgraded, and then post this information.

Upgrading can be done from Moodle 2.9 to 3.6, but there are a lot of things that have to be done correctly, otherwise, problems can occur, as you discovered.
