A client of ours designed a SCORM package to upload into Moodle 3.5.1 for use as a course. However, I have been having issues for a few weeks now trying to get the grade book and attempt tracking to work properly, but am still struggling.
I also attempted to contact Articulate support at scormcloud.com for
help, but they told me it appears as if the package is working properly
and I should contact Moodle support.
When uploading the SCORM package (supposedly 1.2, but is showing in scormcloud as 2004?) to Moodle
3.5.1, I experienced multiple issues based on slightly altering the
settings in Moodle. For example, depending whether the SCORM package was set
to be launched in a new window or current window) or and my settings for "Force New", I either was or wasn't asked if I wanted to resume when
relaunching, and either every launch was counted as an attempt (even if I launched
the course and didn't press play or view/take the quiz at the end) or
only some of my completed attempts were counted as attempts (even after
completing the quiz).
Although I was supposed
to be given 2 chances prior to being locked out (same as settings in SCORM), I was either given too many
attempts when I failed repeatedly (and retries kept showing 1
attempt). Another difference just based on the setting to open in the
"current window" or "new window", was that either the correct score was
being shown in Moodle under the module and in grade book, or it wasn't
being updated properly in grade book. My main concern is that the only way I have found to obtain accurate attempt numbers and scores in all areas of Moodle would result in students being locked out for exceeding the number of set attempts when the SCORM is launched regardless of whether the quiz has been taken.
Does anyone have any similar experiences and figure out a solution? I can send screenshots of some of the settings within the SCORM package when the client created it, as well as various settings in Moodle that appear to be linked to the issue.
Thank you for your help with this!
