I realize this may be too vague of an issue but I am at a loss on what to do.
We are a small site with currently less than 30 users but today we began getting this error:
"An Error occurred whilest communicating with the server"
We are running Moodle 3.6.2 on PHP 7.2. We use the Adaptable theme but I don't think the theme is an issue.
It happened when trying to upload a small PDF and also a small MP3 file to an assignment in a course. Everything else seems to work on the site right now. (later in the evening I was able to upload the same files that earlier failed)
Our site is on a hosted site on a shared server with only 512M of ram allotted to us. Their support department suggestion is to optimize the site or upgrade to a virtual private server with 1gig of ram. I wouldn't know what to change even if I could access the server.
My question is does their reason for the error seem reasonable or is there something I can possibly do to help reduce the chance of this error happening.
