Hi, I have moved en entire moodle install from an inhouse server which had an IP of http://192.168.1.1 to my laptop, and all is working fine. All be it, when i opne a course which uses the books module a lot, none of the images show up.

This is because the image refers to and the laptop it is now on doens't refer to this IP Address...

Now i know if i put the image location as /moodle/file.php/28/paintdotNET/logo.JPG

The image will show up, and it will make any future move (which will happen in about a month) easier, as the links are then not specific to an address..

My question is after reading on this forum, it would appear the quickest and easiest way to do this is to open the necessary file in a text editor use find and replace, and remove the ip address..

Which files do i need to edit, where are the course files?

And if there is an easier way to resolve this problem, excellent, if not no worries..

OK, stupid hat is now taken off..

to resolve this problem, i needed to open the SQL file i had dumped, and do a find and replace on http://192.161.1.1 and not \\192.168.1.1 which i had done before..

Save the dump file, import it back into moodle, and away we go.
