Just upgraded our QA environment from 3.4+ to 3.6, to prepare for our production upgrade in August.
The last years we have been using the Essentials theme, a decision mostly based on not being satisfied with the moodle native theme's navigation. Now we want to look into Boost again, since it would be easier with a native theme and one that moodle.org is investing it's creativity in.
This version has a lot of great improvements in the dashboard, which has become very configurable and easy to use! Very nice!
But then comes My Courses in the navigation menu, and that hasn't changed at all. It can, as far as I can find in the settings, still not be inactivated/hidden or set as folded as default. It shows a list of courses based on mostly irrelevant information, sorted in strange orders. Maybe it should show "starred" courses, or courses with relevant date information (active courses)?
We will try to close it with CSS, or completely hide it since it will be mostly irrelevant to people with many courses. Or have I missed something, is there a setting to do this?
Suggested additional settings for My Courses:
- Show My Courses in navigation menu (default admin setting, could also be options for the user)
- Not at all
- Content of My Courses in navigation menu (default admin setting, could also be options for the user)
- Active courses (based on course start/end date)
- Starred and active
- Starred or active
- Sort order of My Courses in navigation menu (default admin setting, could also be options for the user)
- Start date ascending
- Start date descending
- End date ascending
- End date descending
(Plus the old alternatives, but with ascending/descending option added)
