You are using the [Picture] field.

The [File] filed is for any file formats.

Good morning,

From my Moodle database and your answer it looks like a database can only have ONE file format. Is that correct? Is there a way to add more than one file type to a database?

Thank you,

It is not correct.

You can add any file, no matter what kind of format it is.

Hello William.

Thank you for your prompt response. I have a database it is only letting me add images. Maybe my question is wrong can you use only one preset in a database?

Thank you.

By default, the "Picture" and "file" fields allow both the teacher's role and the student's role to upload. Unless someone changed the permission either on the database module, or in the course level, or in the site level. You'd better have a check.

"Preset' is for quick import a database design, similar to the backup/restore. After you have imported a "preset", it has no meaning anymore. You can edit (Create new fields) in anyway you want to.
