This is a nice idea, a personal assistant dedicated to learning that would:
- remind students about the assignments' deadlines
- compute the required amount of time for these assignments (based on individual and collective learning analytics)
- vocally interact with students: "Hey Moodalexa! What is photosynthesis? When is the next Psychology class?"
- recommand adapted learning materials (adaptive learning)
- and so much more...
Even though I am convinced that would be really innovative and useful, as a instructional expert, I can't stop thinking a too proactive assistant would not help students on a long term perspective because a lot of those skills must be learnt and mastered on their own by students.
Nonetheless, if it can help students gain time by taking in charge repetitive or mundane tasks (web searches, appointment scheduling, etc.) or provide services that would not diminish the thinking effort, that would be awesome.
I don't know any integration or solution proposing this king of services but I haven't really looked for it. Anyway, will keep an eye on this thread since this is a very interesting topic.
