HI there. No; it's not a stupid question at all. But perhaps you were thinking of Moodle as a one stop shop a bit like Facebook? It isn't - this Moodle site here is only for discussing and downloading Moodle and if you want to have admin or teacher rights then you need your own Moodle site. Please read the documentation About Moodle FAQ to make it clearer.
