Hello!

I'm wondering how I can privately reply to a student's forum post? I've seen in some places people adding 'Moodlerooms' - but I don't have an option to add that, only normal forums. And I can't see anywhere to click to enable a private reply. Thanks!

It's not possible to add private replies to standard Moodle forums. ("Moodlerooms" is an outdated name for an add-on (plugin) that perhaps did it but you won't have it by default)

You can use Moodle's Messaging system to send private replies  -that is probably the easiest  way. (It is possible to use groups to have one forum  per person so they are all private - but that kind of defeats the object of forums and is more complex)
