We have upgraded to Moodle 3.5 and using the default boost theme.
The table of contents in books now appear on the right side. How do i move this to the left side of the page?
I dont see any setting for this under 'books' in moodle.

I believe this is in fact because of the behaviour of the Boost Theme.
I tested it on a MoodleCloud site with Boost set as default Theme.
In fact I think the items you are seeing on the "right" are just navigation.
The Table of Contents is actually in a Block below the Book content - see screenshot below.
While this might make sense with some types of resources and activities, because the Book TOC is 'naturally' next to the content, it definitely feels strange have this TOC now below the content
While I can't help with moving the TOC, I'm just noting that this topic has cropped up in our Learn Moodle MOOC and it seems that on Internet Explorer/MS Edge the TOC is under the book while on other browsers such as Firefox it is on the right. (It is expected to be underneath on smaller screens but on IE it is underneath even on my larger screen.)

Only problem is that it sends the "print book" cog (for students) / admin cog (for teachers) to the center of the page.

Here is the complete CSS, which works with Fordson and with Boost in Moodle 3.6.1. The table of content should be on the left and the editing cog should be on the right.
