I have read that people have installed Aspell on hosted servers but not seen any instructions on how to do it. My situation is that I have SSH access to the root of the server but to change things outside of my directory space is typically not allowed. So my question is - can I install Aspell in my /home directory, and if so how?
Another potential wrinkle is that the host has Aspell 0.33 installed already in /usr/bin. But I suppose if I don't point Moodle there it won't be a problem.
Any help would be appreciated - I went to aspell.net but did not find their documentation very helpful to my situation.
