Maybe we're not the only ones wanting to do something like this.
Our back end student management system contains information about all coursework assignments which need to be completed for the validated course conditions.
We would like to be able to pre-populate courses with those assignments in a way that would then allow the course leaders only to change certain attributes - like titles, rubric, description and so on, but crucially not due dates.
Is there any way of doing this?
A colleague has written something to create attendance sessions and groups from our timetabling system so we might try and do something similar to that but using assignments. But obviously if there were already a mechanism to synchronise assignments with back end validated dates and so on that wouldn't be necessary.
