I want to do a before-and-after survey with my students. They will be seated in a lab, and will take both before and after survey from the same machines. I want them to be able remain anonymous, but I also want to check individual changes int their results (not just arithmetic means).
As a result, I would like the survey to capture the IP address of the survey-taker. Is it possible for a survey to automatically capture the IP address (or machine
name, or anything that that I can use to match before and after)?
(I know I can manually allocate students to fake user names as they come into the lab, and ask them to re-use them in the "after" survey, but this is tedious, time-consuming, messy and prone to error).
