I don't understand competency

Hi,

I am an admin, and I am asked how to link quiz questions to an outcome

we are using Moodle 3.5 and I think that outcome in Moodle 3.5 called competency,

however, to add one to the course, I must add first a framework.

this is I don't understand, I read this documentation in Moodle but I don't find the answer.

we have many categories (colleges) in Moodle, and in each category, there are many courses

each category have a list of outcomes and for each course there are a list of learning outcomes.

what the framework means in this context

Hello,

You cannot link individual quiz questions to an competency, you can link any course activity including a quiz to a competency.

However, there is a lot of additional setup steps and no core reporting on competencies or learning plans. What does the person who is making the request how to achieve by using outcomes? There may be a better solution to meet their requirement.

they asked me for a report that shows the students accomplishment in each outcome

they want to have a quiz with 20 questions (for example)

the quiz connected to 4 outcomes

some questions, connected to different outcomes

so Q1, Q3,Q4, Q6 connected to outcome 1

Q2,Q5 connected to outcome 2

and so on

I have one course, Ladder Safety with four different quiz activities - for each type of ladder

Each quiz activity awards the student who completed the quiz with a passing grade the competency for that type of ladder.

Students that complete all quiz - are awarded all four competencies.

Competency are created in the competency framework.

Competency must be linked to a Learning Plan Template.

Learning Plan templates are assigned to students - the assigned template becomes the students "learning plan"

Competencies are added to the Course and then linked to the appropriate activities within the course.

You must have the My Learning Plan block plug-in installed to view the relationships.

There are no delivered reports and no current plug-ins for competencies and learning plans.

It is a lot of administrative setup - without the benefit of being able to report on the students earned competencies.
