Negative Scores in Multiple Choice questions

Hello,

I really do not know wether it's a bug or a feature. Since forever ago I thought I knew that the minimum score for a multiple choice question is zero even if negative scores have been set up.

If you:

  • create a quiz
  • create a Multiple Choice question (configured as single choice / allow only one answer)
  • set up two answers and grade A 100% and B -100%
  • run the quiz as a student and select B and submit it
  • view the results as a teacher, the student gets a negative score, for the question and the whole quiz in the review
  • the negative score is shown as zero in the gradebook

Is this the correct and desired behaviour?

Best regards

Sebastian

Tim might correct me but I believe that questions can have negative scores but the quiz's minimum score is 0.

Hi Emma,

that is correct too. Some EU-Universities do not allow negative scores within exams. I always told trainers that zero is the minimum score for each question.

Best regards

Sebastian
