In brief, I want the override the method `search_users` from the `core_message\api` class.
I tried going about it the way you would overriding a renderer as I couldn't find anything on how to do what I want, but that didn't work.
Is what I'm after even possible?
I need to edit the SQL so only certain users show depending on who's searching, I've come across posts before where people have asked about turning it off altogether but they have been told what they were trying to achieve was going against the Moodle Philosophy, so I am aware of that.
