Barracuda file format

Barracuda file format

Moodle recommends that tables are converted to Barracuda file format (rather than Antelope) and says "if this test fails, it indicates a potential problem".

In laymans terms, is anyone able to clarify what 'potential problems' could occur if we do not convert to Barracuda file format and/or what would be the benefit of converting to Barracuda?

Barracuda file format was introduced by innodb5.1, including compressed and dynamic file formats. The difference between Barracuda and Antelope is that Barracuda can create secondary indexes on data that does not aggregate index pages, and can store more data in overflow pages.
