Hi Mike,

Just a bit of context. RecordingsBN is essencially a view that lists the recordings hosted by BBB. The recording data is fetched from BBB everytime someone access the RecordsingsBN instance, but based on the meeting IDs that BigBlueButtonBN holds. RecordingsBN was made to show (and manage) all the recordings created through BigBlueButtonBN activities in a course.

As BigBlueButtonBN can now be used in three modes, "Recordings only" gives the same functionality RecordingsBN did.

That being said.

When you upgrade BigBlueButtonBN to the latest version, all the RecordingsBN instances you have will stop working. BUT, don't uninstall it yet. Do it until the RecordingsBN instances are migrated to BigBlueButtonBN.

And no, there are no scripts to do the migration automatically when the plugin is upgraded.

You have two options for migrating.

1. If you updated only BigBlueButtonBN, as you pointed, it can be done manually, which means a teacher would have to create a new BigBlueButtonBN instance of type "Recordings only" in their course, additional to the ones they have already for the actual meetings.

2. If you update also RecordingsBN (to at least version 1.3.3 https://moodle.org/plugins/pluginversion.php?id=16023), along with the message that announces the deprecation, administrators will have an option for running a script that will create for you an instance of BigBlueButtonBN of type "Recordings only" for each RecordingsBN you have. This will be done in the same course and using the same name you had for RecordingsBN.
