hi

How do I disable memcache and memcached in moodle?
it seems sometimes the caching system is not working properly, I want to try to disable memcache.
and if there is any other caching mechanism - maybe disable those as well.

i'm using moodle 3.1

take a look at the screen shot I've attached as a file to this message.

it says memcache is "ready" and stores zero plugins.
I'm not sure what that means... does it mean it's also active? or does it just mean I can now use plugins that use memcache and as itself - it does nothing?

It's not active.

It just means the memcached client (not memcache, that's a different thing with a confusingly similar name) is installed.

Let's take a step back. What problem are you actually trying to fix?
