When you are in editing mode of a course and select the topic name the topic doesnt unfold it throws you too the last topic in the course. However if you select the icon next to the topic name eg to the left of the topic name it does unfold the topic.
Is this is as designed or is this behavior a bug.
your help is appreciated
running moodle version Moodle 3.4.3 (Build: 20180517)
topcol version is
When editing in the course is disabled selecting either the topcs name or topics graphic toggles the collapsed and uncollapsed state of the topic but when course editing is enabled this no longer happens as the topics name doesnt trigger the toggle only the graphic does in editing
so when editing is enabled the following no longer gets called when clicking on the topic name
In edit mode, clicking on the name allows you t quickly edit the topic name, so the icon is the only logical way to expose what is below a topic.
When not in edit mode, clicking on the topic name exposes the contents.
To me, this all seems very logical.
(I am using Moodle 3.5. I have used Collapsed Topics since Moodle 2.0, and I love it!)
I understand the logicality of it however we have had users complain the behavior is not consistent when in editing mode and not in editing mode.
Not consistent? When editing you can change the text and when not you can't - two different modes of operation. If I were to remove this then it would take a few more clicks in editing mode to change the title of the section, which I consider is far worse from a user interaction perspective than knowing that you just have to move the mouse a little to toggle the section. Therefore something I'm not going to change. You can always change the code if you want locally.
