Many thanks for trying to help. You are right. It's very frustrating.
At this stage, I think I have done all I can to have the images displayed in the marketing blocks at the front page. But with no success. I am still hoping someone can help me figure out how to solve this.
Here is what I have tried:
1) Inside my sever, I went to adaptable theme and created a folder called "myimages". Please see the screen shot. I uploaded the images in that folder (myimages).
2) In my moodle site, appearance, themes, adaptable, marketing blocks, block 1, I clicked on the image icon (insert or edit image), then I entered the url. I tried various versions of the url but none of them worked. Here are the url I tried:

http://mymoodlesite.com/pluginfile.php/1/theme_adaptable/myimages/image1.jpg

I have also tried just pasting the link in the html <img src="http://mymoodlesite.com/image1.jpg"
Still nothing worked
Is there something I am doing wrong? Am I missing something? Is there is different process?
