Sorry to ask this here. A google search produced 5 answers but all of them from 2009-10 and did not look anything like our present Moodle. How can I put a photo on the background of the front page and the dashboard?
In many ways it depends upon your theme:
Some themes have a setting which will allow you to add an image through the settings pages
In others you would have to ensure the image is available somewhere accessible and then add a line to the customCss (or SCSS) settings targeting the specific pages you want the image to appear on.
You may want to ask the moderators to move this to the Themes forum - and add the details the forum needs, such as your Moodle version and theme
