We have a social forum that has a long history, includes students from years ago that are already gone.
As our upgrade strategy for moodle is fresh install and migrate course, this forum slowly become a problem -- It loops in all the old student records from years ago, and we started to feel the fresh install is not so fresh soon after the forum data was imported.
I am wondering have anyone done external forum integration?
Points I am looking at includes:
- Moodle forum data migration to external forum
- Moodle user data sync to external forum
If not.. What is your way of managing forum with long history? Our teachers says they observe some sort of performance impact to the system, was there some way to mitigate the impact?
Background: forum includes around 600+ user, and all forum related tables weights nearly 400mb now.
