Migration of moodle to live server.

I am using moodle 3.1.7. new to moodle , I uploaded all my file and directories. i open my moodle site URL but it show me "Fatal error: $CFG->dataroot is not configured properly, directory does not exist or is not accessible! Exiting.". I don't know in where at server side i should upload 'moodledata' directory and what $CFG->dataroot i should write.

Do you have full admin/ root access to the server?

Moodledata directory is usually one level up from the htdocs... in /var/www/

On an out of the box install.

Also check permissions on it.
