Grading rubrics - ability to skip criteria?

Hi

We are setting up some assessments for the professional development of radiologists.  The assessment consists of packs of cases (with  - they review the images associated with each case on a radiology system and write reports based on a word template.  This is then uploaded to moodle as a PDF via the assignment activity.

The learner can complete between 2 and 6 cases per pack, submitted as one PDF file.  This means they will be submitting templates that are partially completed. The grading rubric is set up with assessment of 14 critera per case, meaning that there are 84 criteria in the rubric.  At the moment, this means that the marker has to click 'N/A' for every criteria that does not apply to the submission.

Is there a way anyone can suggest of either:

  • Setting all criteria to N/A by default so that only the necessary criteria need to be completed
  • Not having to complete every criteria before submitting the grade
  • Or just another way of accomplishing the grading and submission?

The rubric is attached so that you can see the criteria we are working with.
