Authenticating against multiple domains in the same AD forest

Authenticating against multiple domains in the same AD forest

Hi, is it possible to use the Moodle LDAP plugin to authenticate against multiple domains in a single forest? I have pointed the plugin to our GC server which is at the top level of the child domains, however it doesn't seem to be able to pick up users in OUs from the child domains?

I've had a quick search around but there seems to be mixed opinions about it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary,
Global Catalog is the right way: do you mean that you're able to bind users on the top domain but the child ones?

TIA,
Matteo

Hi Matteo, yes I can authenticate users in the top domain but not the child domains.

My search string looks like this

ou=Users,dc=ad,dc=toplevel,dc=co,dc=uk;ou=Users,dc=child1,dc=ad,dc=toplevel,dc=co,dc=uk

Thanks,

Gary

Edit: I think I have sorted it! After re-reading the documentation it turns out the LDAP port was wrong!
