Further to a meeting with Carlo Polizzi, Moodle’s DPO and Legal Counsel, we’re going to have to change the way we run MoodleNet community calls from now on.

We’ll update you about the new format soon, and in the meantime you can read more about the wider impact of GDPR on open source community calls via this poston (MoodleNet Lead) Doug Belshaw’s blog.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for letting us know about these side effects of GDPR.

There's just one thing i find strange : having the real complete information on your blog, and not on the (official) MoodleNet blog. For me, it let it appear less official (be sure there's nothing personnal, but a feeling of logic).

Re: MoodleNet community calls in the wake of GDPR

Hi Séverin, the point of doing that was that I was blogging for the benefit of the wider open source community. MoodleNet is only one project that's affected by GDPR, so I didn't want to make the longer blog post solely about this project. smile
