As part of the Fordson plugin set we will be releasing two new plugins that will create a very secure and lockdown testing environment for Moodle.  However, this does require you be using a Chromebook but for MANY in K-12 education we are already Google for Education partners.  There are two parts:  Chromebook app and Moodle Quiz Access Rule plugin.

The quiz access rule communicates with the Chromebook app and ensures the student is using the secure browser app on the chromebook.  Otherwise they will not be able to open the quiz.  This plugin also puts a new setting into the standard Quiz module which is simply a toggle to turn on or off the secure browser.

The Chromebook App does several things that eliminate rampant student cheating such as opening other tabs, browsing away from the test, and many other things like once you open a quiz you cannot leave the quiz unless you restart the chromebook.

We always hear from teachers who are hesitant to use Moodle for exams because they think it is too easy for kids to cheat. This can put their mind at ease.

It rivals what other paid secure browsers might offer and we plan to give it away once complete because we want K-12 schools using Moodle and we know that this is a major concern.

The plugins are all tightly integrated with alerts and other things with the Fordson theme.  Fret not, if you do not want to use this you don't have to.
