Question about calculating grades

Question about calculating grades

Hello all I've searched for the answer to this on my own but I must be asking the wrong questions..

I've attached a screenshot to hopefully better explain. The course totals are showing up as the score from each assignment added up. They are not an average of the course totals like one would expect.

How do I make the course totals average to a grade rather than adding up all of the scores from each assignment?

I was never able to make this work the way I wanted. It would be great if I could get this working. A link to a good howto or respective documentation will do just as good as an answer on how to do it. Again, I must be asking the wrong questions because this seems like it should be pretty simple to adjust. Any direction I can get is greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me like you just need to change your aggregation method from Sum of grades (or Natural - depending on what version of Moodle you are running) to Mean of grades. This is done by editing the top category in your gradebook setup.

Here’s a link to more info on grade aggregation https://docs.moodle.org/35/en/Grade_aggregation
