Unoconv setup on moodle Moodle 3.4.2+ (Build: 20180425)

I use a debian sever with Plesk and have several version of moodle running.

We have followed the instructions to implement unoconv for pdf markup on assignments.

On Moodle 3.2.4+ (Build: 20170714) and Moodle 3.1 (Build: 20160523), the "Path to unoconv document converter" shows up, but on the newer build 3.4.2+ running on the same server there is no path showing and the box for the path does not show.

So, the older versions detect unoconv, but the newer version does not.

Any help gratefully received.....

Les

Yes - use Google docs to convert your documents. It works. Unoconv is properly unreliable in a production environment.

I like the potential functionality offered by unoconv in assignment grading.  Convert word document to pdf and then allow annotation all in a single screen.

Are you suggesting that you can do the same with google docs all in a seamless single screen?

Hi Leslie,

in Moodle 3.4.2+ the location for the path to unoconv is in Site administration > Plugins > Document converters.

Yes you can use Google drive to convert documents. But, when you go to the above mentioned location, you will see that Google drive supports nine types of files and Unoconv supports seventy-four (74) types of files. Might need to take that into account when picking which one to use. Or, you might try enabling both.
