Hi. I am creating an online photography course using moodle, and here is what I want to do.
I am creating the content completly in Adobe Golive.
I want these pages to only be accessable through moodle(ie-so people who haven't paid to take the course cant just type in www.noelchenier.ca/COURSES/composition.html and get it for free)
I also want the photography terms in the text on these pages to be autolinked to the glossary.
Is this possible to do without linking to a webpage? I've tried copying and pasting the html source into a creating a webpage resource and it looked fine, but it won't show the images when I view it as admin or a student.
If I do it via linking a webpage, how can I get moodle to autolink the photography terms to the glossary?
For autolinking turn on Glossary Autolinking in the admin/filters.
If filtering does not work on static resource webpages then I would create your pages as Labels. Labels are full html that is stored in the database and filtered.
Moodle webpage resources display images from within the resource folder for that course or the main site resource folder (1). That is typically the /moodledata/(course ID)/ folder. See your course Id in the url for the course (ex. ...view.php?id=XX )Those folders do not exist until you create them or moddle creates them when you want to upload a resource for the course. Within that folder you can create your own image folder if needed.
think of each course as a website unto itself with it's root being the resource folder.
Upload your images to moodledata/XX/images/ with ftp since moodle does not yet have bulk upload. You'll have to edit/search and replace so that the pages you create in go live recognize the resource folder as root. Meaning just use index.html or for the image tags use images/image.jpg etc. Strip out the relevance go live is probably using on your local.
