If trying to install Moodle but I keep getting an error: Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/moodledata) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/public_html:/home/admin/tmp) in /home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/public_html/escola/install.php on line 328
I have a VPS running Ubuntu 16.04 with php 7. phpini is located in /etc/php/7.0/apache2
The Moodle files (without the directory) are in /home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/public_html/escola and the data folder is /home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/moodledata. The owner/group for this folder are admin/admin and the permissions are set to 0777.
Also, the owner/group for /home/admin/web/rpallen.com.br/ are admin/admin and the permissions are set to 0777.
I’ve found several articles on this error. They all refer to php.ini.
commenting out the open_basedir - line it was already commented out
enter none for the value for open_basedir – this didn’t help
And after each time I changed something in php.ini, I restarted the apache2 server.
turn off safe_mode – I didn’t find a safe_mode setting in php.ini, though I did find sql.safe_mode. (nano’s search function reports that sql.safe_mode is the only occurence of safe_mode)
So what should I do to get this working?
