I won't try to convince you to stay with Moodle, but you mention that you work for a university - typically the LMS is a critical system in a university and any move to a new LMS is going to introduce significant challenges that cannot be resolved without appropriate resourcing - especially if moving to another open source LMS. In your search for a new LMS it would be wise to do everything you can to convince the management team to treat your LMS as a critical system and allocate an appropriate budget that represents the importance of the LMS to your institution. Otherwise I expect you may find yourself in the same situation you are in now (or one of your colleagues will). It must be really tough trying to do your job and provide a good elearning experience for your students without the support of your university.
