I introduced a new org I'm working with to Moodle as a platform for setting up a new set of courses (fee-based & free) and possibly in a few years, to move courses in their proprietary system over to. While I was on leave for a few months they had a conversation with their design firm that led to the design firm talking about integrating moodle with joomla (or word press or something).
I have no experience with this. Can anyone please give me a run down of why one would integrate moodle with joomla or WP? Pros/ cons? I know it's a broad question. The current LMS (which is more of a CMS) is run through WP but we wouldn't integrate this new project into that any time soon; ultimately we might need to transfer registration of 150 or less users over but I don't think facilitating that process (if that is a benefit of WP) is a good enough reason to start with a WP integrated site.
Because they do something you want that Moodle doesn't AND you want your users to have a seamless experience (i.e., they don't really see two different systems).
An example - Woocommerce. This is an established eCommerce plugin for Wordpress. So, if you are selling courses (beyond the trivial functionality in core Moodle) you can use Wordpress/Woocommerce to sell your courses and then the integration will automagically create the users and enrolments required in Moodle.
Hi, can you tell me your decision? jommla or wp? and why. I have the same dilemma.
