I would like my users to use forum tracking to keep track of unread forum posts - our new default dashboard will also feature the "my unread forum posts" block.
However, im running into a few problems here:
- Even if i change the default setting for user profiles to have forum tracking enabled, this will not change the setting for existing users
- Even if i set the default setting for all new forums to have forced read tracking, this will
- not change the setting of existing forums
- not change the setting of new announcement forums in new courses
The last part is especially annoying - what's the point of even having an option to make forum tracking the default setting, if it does not apply to the one forum that all courses use?
