Moodle Release 3.5 is scheduled for May. I didn't find any information about when the first release candidate / first stable version will be released. Does anyone know an exact date?
You can find the beta version of Moodle 3.5 under development release.
I have just installed Moodle 3.5 Build: 20180512 and it is telling me that my version of MySQL is too high for it. Is there any way to get round this?
Now that is an odd one. I'd always assumed that .5 was higher than .3, but ok. I'll talk to my IT specialist guys since this may require a bit of careful planning.
I was fooled too, years ago, but they are NOT decimal points. Think of them as just separators. So you currently have five - five - five.... but you need to have five - five - thirtyone.
More probably, you've given the wrong DB driver in your config.php. A forum search would have helped: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=330272#p1329195
Thanks for the tip, and yes Al, I looked through the MYSQL site yesterday and was amazed to see how many releases there typically are.
Nicolas, a search might have picked it up, but as often as not there is so much going on here that sorting wheat from chaff is a pretty major task in itself. Fine if you know exactly what you are looking for, but if you are bit uncertain, then as I say ...
But the forum has come up trumps here and the application is installed and running as sweet as a nut on my development server which means that my colleagues can go and get a heads up on what they can expect when we install the final version over the summer break.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support and patience.
