I just read a Mary's 2015 post about Bootstrap Elements Plugin not showing icon picker in Essential theme (https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=277216#p1207561) and I'd like to know if from there to here someone discovered something more on that issue. In my case, using Moodle 3.4.1 and Essential 126.96.36.199 (Build: 2017102902), that popup icon does not appear.
Note that if I type the awesome font code (like fa-link) it works, but the popup window does not appear ... so the user has to know the "fa-codes".
Thanks in advance!
Bug is in all themes down to the inclusion of the JS:
fontawesome-iconpicker.min.js:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
modedit.php?sr=0&add=bootstrapelements§ion=3&course=7&theme=boost:370 Uncaught ReferenceError: $ is not defined
Has this been fixed yet? I use Moodle 3.5 with plugin version 1.2 and "More" theme and the popup does not appear...
As I understood the thread it is not really a matter of the theme, even though the title was asking for a specific one. I figured a plugin maintainer would find the question easier when it is within the thread already monitored... As I got an answer, can we leave it at that?
I have been using the plugin for quite a while now and some the time the picker stopped working within the 2.x Moodles, but then there was a solution. I think it had to do with not updating the the newest version. Then with some Moodle-update it stopped working once more. I stayed with an older version and tried the newest one, but this time it was gone for good. I think (I am not sure) I used it on different installations under different themes and that did not matter in this matter there either...
It's not that difficult as you just need to write an AMD wrapper (src that is then minified) that includes it:
then just have the minified JS file (as long as it has AMD define at the top) in the 'build' folder:
then you load your AMD wrapper file as normal.
I managed to fix it yesterday so will put out a new release soon after more testing and one or two other minor updates to it.
Gareth, I did what you mentioned some time ago to fix it, but came across other issues around other js dependencies: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=368774
Nonetheless, I figured it out yesterday, so all good.
