Is it possible to use Markdown syntax anywhere in Wiki (Moodle 3.4)?

Dear Moodle community!

I have recently installed Moodle 3.4 on my Ubuntu system. Moodle is great.

I set Markdown syntax as described on wiki-page.

I want to use it in "Activities or resources" section - especially on Wiki.

So I created course and wiki inside it.

But what is strange Moodle interprets Markdown normally only in Edit settings, General -> Description (url is course/modedit.php?update=2&return=1, I set Markdown format in dropdown under text-area).

If I add Markdown-marked text to the page body in Edit -> Editing this page (url is mod/wiki/edit.php?pageid=1) it automatically renders as "HTML format" even if I set   Markdown format in dropdown under text-area).

So my question - is it possible to use Markdown syntax anywhere in Wiki?

What should I setup to make it working as I expect?

With best regards,

Norbert.

Hi Norbert,

did you by any chance find a solution for this? I seem to be struggling with the exact same behavior. Saving text in Markdown format works everywhere (incl. in Wiki description) except in the body of Wiki pages. It always reverts back to HTML. I have experimented with Marklar Editor (https://moodle.org/plugins/editor_marklar) but it doesn't seem to remedy the issue.
