Best practise to make the following project for moodle

The idea of this project is to provide an instructor a tool to teach mathematical relations and at the same time to give students an easy to use application for learning and practicing. Something similar to this.

The instructor will be able to keep a log of students’ performance. This tool should be available through Moodle for a university course and only students registered for the course will use it.

So it will be built with PHP. Consider the php project is already built.

I need some suggestions on the following (any personal ideas are accepted):

How can I integrate that project into the  specific Moodle course page that only registered users to that course  can see it?

You should write Moodle activity and integrate your code in.

See https://docs.moodle.org/dev/Activity_modules

Moodle 3.3 is the latest (and last) version with PHP 5.6 support.  It will have security support until November 2018.

Moodle 3.1 is an LTS release, so has security support until May 2019, although the older you go, the more work it will be to upgrade down the road.

Hi

First of all thanks for pointing out that great resource: https://www.wiley.com/en-us/Discrete+Mathematics+with+Student+Solutions+Manual+Set-p-9780470086421. My initial reaction was, "What an expensive book!" Then looking at the supporting resources http://webspace.ship.edu/deensley/DiscreteMath/ it is an encyclopedic work, I must say!

@all, You need Flash to see the applications, under the original link http://webspace.ship.edu/deensley/DiscreteMath/flash/ch4/sec4_4/control_44.html, for example.

I won't bet on writing those applications in PHP. I see better chances in following the h5p line: https://h5p.org/moodle and https://moodle.org/plugins/mod_hvp. But don't ask me, how to do it! :-\

Off-topic: So you are faced with the problem of a paperless classroom. The exercises in the book are meant of paper - just watching the animations is nothing. Just estimate the cost of writing blocks and compare it to the cost of development of the all software tools needed in their place.
