Adding a landing page on Moodle cloud site

Hi,

Just wanted to check this with veteran Moodlers here. Is it possible to put a small introductory video or a small page/course- "About us" right on the front page of moodle cloud site. I mean, I wish to educate the visitors about ourselves, the services provided by the site, how we deliver the curriculum etc etc. And majority of the visitors won't have a login credentials at the first place.

Is it possible to put something like that, which everyone can freely access.

Thanks in advance,

Ash

Hi Ash,

A (very) basic solution is to customise the "auth_instructions" config field, going to /admin/settings.php?section=manageauths on your MoodleCloud site.

This is displayed on the login page of your site.

Thanks Mat. That does help a bit; but, I have to explore other threads to dig this further.

All I want is to educate the visitors to my site about our self, services we provide, Terms and Conditions etc. Just like on any other wordpress website.

I was pondering, should we make a guest login and prompt the user to enter the site using that; and using Label resource add text and multimedia content. This way the content will be visible to the visitors. But, problem with this is, there is too much content and it will not be organised and presented well with this solution.

Another aspect: Not everyone will be familiar with the icons we use in Moodle. So adding our content within a particular resource for example, book or page, or making a course to educate them about us, and asking them to go thru it, will perhaps be quite contrary to what I am thinking.

Let's see.

Thanks once again.
