I'm going to try it out in an test moodle I have, this way I will avoid all risks.
Just another thing, with your solution you have to be admin to add html block to a course but a regular teacher with editing permissions can delete this block the usual way can't he? The great thing for moodle was to, instead of defining 4 levels of editing permissions each with a set of permissions, that you could configure those sets. For example a teacher that could not add or delete certain blocks, that would also just see certain parts of the adminstration etc.
Is this beeing done for the 1.6 version?
