We've got a single Moodle site with a separate web server, file server and DB server - all 3 are linux and dedicated to Moodle.
When we try and move the location of the MoodleData folder anywhere then the site just goes uselessly slow, like 5 - 10 minutes just to bring up the login screen. The dataroot in the config.php file is not changing, we are changing the location in the fstab file directly.
Mounting the new share in linux is fine, copying files across is fine but as soon as we try and open moodle every page is minutes and minutes just to load. The webserver cpu is 99% idle, the DB is also equally under utilised. I've tried setting debug and debugdisplay to true but I see nothing. I see no errors in the apache log.
Any ideas what could be causing such slowness just from moving the moodleData file share? Any ideas where I should be looking?
All 3 servers are Debian if that matters.
