Course List in Navigation Drawer

We are using a customized Boost theme in Moodle 3.3.

The course list in the navigation  drawer does not list courses until the course start date.

Is there a way we could get the courses to appear in that list 1 week prior to the course start date? (We normally open our moodle sites 1 week prior to the semester beginning and would like that access to be a bit easier for students.)

There is a tracker issue out for this and it is being developed - see MDL-61161

Thank you Mary. I would love to see this become a user-edited feature for timing.
