Book chapters and the Recycle Bin

Book chapters and the Recycle Bin

Hi --

I noticed today that deleted Books chapters do not end up in the Recycle Bin (I'm running Moodle 3.3.3). Is this a known issue, or perhaps is there a configuration setting I'm missing?

I think it would be problematic if deleted Book chapters can't be recovered from the Recycle Bin.

Much thanks in advance.... Brian

Hi Brian,

My understanding is that only entire deleting activities and resources within a course will end of in the Recycle Bin.  Deleting a component part of activity or resource will not send that part to the bin.

For example, deleting a post from a Forum or a file from a Folder will have no Recycle Bin impact, but delete the entire Forum or Folder and they will be sent to the bin.

Many thanks,

Sandy

Hi Sandy ...

Thanks for the response. Yes, this makes sense. It occurred to me later that the situation with deleting book chapters is probably the same as it is for forum posts and the like. Maybe we’ll see future enhancements where deleted content within activities and resources can also be “recyclable.”

Thanks again.... Brian
