Just bought my ticket and reserved my hotel room, I managed to find somewhere really close this time with private parking. I'm hoping to do a few days Skiing at Glencoe the preceding weekend, so will have my car with me. Who else is going?
Really pleased to see that the change in location to Glasgow has also resulted in a drop in the ticket price and my hotel is cheaper. I'm also happy to see that we're university based this year. I much prefer that to the soulless conference centre/hotel used for the London events. I'm hoping this means a return to lecture hall tiered seating for the conference sessions, which is so much better than the "dining room" arrangement.
Note to the organisers (Gavin etc), the huge (2.7MB) image of Strathclyde Uni on the booking page means that (a) When you PDF the booking page the PDF is very large and (b) when you click through each page of the booking process you get landed on the image with nothing else visible, so you have to scroll right down a lot to get to the actual form you need to deal with.
One request for 2019! Can you please try and get the dates confirmed much earlier, March/April is a really busy period for me and while MoodleMoot is normally the week before Easter, that hasn't always been the case and there are other things going on around then which I would like to do, but can't commit to until the MoodleMoot dates are out. Unfortunately, the announcement usually comes too late, so I miss out on other activities. I appreciate that there is a lot to organise, but as a committee member for another large software conference, we usually managed to confirm a lot further in advance, one year we managed 12 months notice!
I'll be there. I'm looking forward to seeing Glasgow again.
Perhaps our social night will involve a small Ceilidh (fingers crossed!)
Brownie points for spelling it right Jess ???????
