I think Tim is correct. I know that allowed question types is a new feature in 3.0 as I discussed it with Frank Koch one of the people behind StudentQuiz and vaguely experimented with how it might be done. Frank contacted me to let me know they had implemented it, which made me happy as it is frequently a good idea if students are not overwhelmed by possible question types. It really is an excellent plugin.
