So, I'm trying to upgrade to the latest-greatest version of everything moodle. This includes getting rid of php5 and replacing it with php7.2. I did a bunch of apt-get installs and apt-get purges. So that when I list all the packages on my server, I see nothing but php7.0 and php 7.2.
Yet Moodle sees php5.5.30. I looked all over the server and did a search-and-destroy for everything php5. Didn't help. At the command line I type php -v and I see 7.2. When I do "ls /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/" or "ls /etc/apache2/mods-available/" i see php 7.2 modules, but no php 5 modules.
Where could it be picking it up from? Was Moodle or Apache compiled with php5 baked in? If a mod is enabled and available, how do I check to make sure apache actually loaded it?
Yes, I've done a reload of apache2 and a restart and a stop followed by a start. Should I do a stop, wait 10 hours and restart apache? Got any ideas why this weirdness?
Thanks in advance,
